It’s TRUE, I love budgeting.

Budgeting is something that puts me in my happy place! Many people strongly dislike the word budget and what it brings to mind. People think of harsh restrictions and micromanagement of their spending.  But it doesn’t have to be that way. If you prefer, you can call it a spending plan. You need to know where you are each month to know if you are on track to your goals. It doesn’t necessarily have to be restrictive!

Do you have short or long-term financial goals? Now may be a good time to think about the financial goals you want to set for yourself. Whatever your goal, having a spending plan will help you to monitor your progress and reach it sooner.

There are a few questions you may want to ask yourself in order to put together a budget.

Have you set some short and long-term financial goals?

Do you have an Emergency Fund already?

Do you know how much money comes in and goes out monthly?

Are you able to keep up with any debt payments you may have?

How often are you paid? Monthly? Bi-weekly?

I get paid monthly, which makes having a monthly budget very simple. If you get paid bi-weekly like my husband does, you may want to split your monthly budget by pay period. I love Google sheets, so I can check and modify my budget anywhere, anytime.
